An easier path to LEED certification- with a bonus.

Todays facilities are proud to display their LEED certification, it comes at a price though. System integration requirements are many, and impact the whole building- water, power, air quality, the list goes on. In the planning stages of a new building, this task is far easier. What if your building is complete? What if it is actually old? How do you bring together all those legacy systems to provide the data required to progress towards this worthy certification?
LEED requires modern, complex and accessible data streams from all measured metrics. Power is a good example. LEED mandates that you-
Share whole building energy and water data.
Meters and sub-meters must be permanent and constantly report to a remote location.
The data must be accessed via a Local Area Network, Automation System etc.
All data collected must be stored for 36 months, remotely accessible and provide granular detail-hours, days, months, years usage.
Large users must be sub metered.
How will you gather all this data, how will you store, trend, report, share, protect and analyze it? Older buildings are filled with the legacy systems installed over the years. Most are a combination of modern systems with an internet site offering just their systems data, and older systems with no data or very hard to access data. Finding a single way to gather all the disparate data streams into a single stream was impossible in the past. Too many sensors, too many data formats, poor communication choices, no central depository to access.
