What keeps you up at night?

An operations stoppage shines a very bright light on you until everything is back to running. You may even get to see the bottom of a bus if not resolved quickly.


Not everything in your world can be controlled, but everything can be monitored. Clear data on the health of all your critical systems is the first step to preventing issues from escalating into outages.


Commercial data centers come in levels/tiers 1-4. I had the pleasure of visiting a level 4 center near D.C. recently. It was extremely well planned. Power coming from multiple utilities, chilled water storage, rows of generators, scrubbers running 24/7 on the diesel fuel, rooms full of batteries. It was a singular focus on continuity of service. While that set up would be great for most users, the most we can accomplish is a singular focus on our main task. The operational status of your center must be maintained for your organization to work. While you cannot set up like a tier 4 data center, you can emulate a few of their procedures.


Everything gets monitored- This gives you an early warning of any issue

Everything has an alert protocol- Out of range alerts are automatically dispatched as needed. Control screen alerts, combined with lightstack status alerts and push alerts to email and SMS ensure the alarm gets attention.

Everything is visible in a central location- Data is right in front of those who need it. No searching allowed.

Staff knows how to respond- A blinking light that no one knows how to respond to does little good.


These same protocols can easily be put in place at your center. Identify the critical components and their healthy operating specs. Now configure how you want to alert for potential or current failure modes. Provide easy and clear access to all critical data to staff located in multiple areas. I know what you are thinking- our generator is nowhere near the server room, which is not near the UPS system which is in a different building from the call center. Not all of your equipment has a status you can access anyway, and the ones that do use different data formats.


There is an answer, use a data agnostic gateway to point all your critical data from any asset (PBX, UPS, generator etc) to the secure IoT cloud. Create an interactive dash to manage the data and automatically send alerts out. You can have the critical data on a desktop, status display or phone. Password tiers let you show the correct level of data for each user.
